Horseback riding lessons are scheduled for approximately one hour sessions. Circumstances might require more time, including but not limited to cooling your horse off, rinsing or blanketing your horse. We do lessons Monday through Friday from around 1 PM - 8 PM.
What’s Involved
- All students start by learning how to halter, lead and work with a horse from the ground. Then each lesson, the student will be performing every step in the process of riding. We teach horsemanship, not just riding.
- Students will groom, tack and care for the horse each lesson.
- It will be approximately the third or fourth lesson before they ride.
- Students will start western.
- We will memorize scripture as we also learn about horses.
- It’s $45 for a single lesson or $320 for a package of 8 lessons (which makes each lesson $40).
- Packages are scheduled for once a week on the same day and time for 8 consecutive weeks.
- Lessons are individual (one student per instructor).
- Lessons cannot be every other week unless you would like to pay for the weeks you are not here.
- A package of 8 lessons will not exceed a 10 week period of time. After 10 weeks, a new package must be bought in order to keep your lesson spot.
- All lessons and packages are non-refundable
- Horse Shows: For current riding students that are ready to compete, there would be an opportunity to participate in the Freedom Farm shows and local shows!!
- Group Lessons: For all current students. The cost is just 1 lesson that will be deducted from your package. We normally clean the barn, eat lunch and do a devotion, then ride.
- Barn sleepovers and several other fun events.
- Opportunities to volunteer and hang out at the farm for barn days!
Girl Scout, Boy Scout or Field Trips
The trip would include a two hour visit to our farm. We will break into small groups to teach the students about horse chores like feeding and mucking a stall, groom a horse and of course everyone will get to ride a horse. There will be a riding demonstration and students will be lead by a Freedom Farm volunteer during the their ride. There will be several opportunities for pictures. We will be spending our time inside the barn and in our indoor arena so we can plan trips all year long. It will be a trip your students won’t forget. We schedule visits Monday - Through Saturday, 10am - 6pm. Our calendar fills fast during the summer, so call or email soon to book your outing.

Birthday Party Details at Freedom Farm
Our birthday package is for 2 hours at the farm, use of our office where you can have cake and presents, then we teach the children how to groom and then each child gets to ride a horse in our indoor arena. The cost is $150 for 8 children, then $20 for each additional child, up to 14 total children. You can come 30 minutes before the party to decorate the office. Then after the party we will allow 30 minutes to clean up. We normally start out in the office where you can have your cake and presents. When that’s done, we move to the indoor arena where we break them into smaller groups for grooming and riding. The children will be led by a Freedom Farm volunteer during the horseback riding portion for safety.
You can also bring a craft to do in the office. We have had parents bring things like cowboy hats and bandannas to decorate, makes for a good picture. We will also have a time where parents can take pictures of the children riding and a group picture with the horses.
▪ Riding helmets will be provided and must be worn during the riding time.
▪ Riders must wear jeans and boots (if boots with a small heel is not available then wear tennis shoes).
▪ Waivers must be signed by parents for each participant.
▪ A $80 deposit is required to save the time slot.
